St. Sophia Church of the East
Rev. Fr. Richard Stein, pastor of St. Sophia Church of the East began his path
toward Christian ministry by ending a successful career as an art director in the advertising and garment businesses. Alarmed
with our culture’s tragic rush toward metaphysical revolt and a futile attempt to substitute sensual and material for
spiritual fulfillment, Fr. Richard set out to discover a deeper understanding of Christian values and ethics.
Formerly Roman Catholic, he was ordained a nondenominational minister and began
St. Sophia in August of 2000. Four years later Fr. Richard was able to bring St. Sophia Church of the East into apostolic
succession to ensure the validity of the Holy Sacraments in a liturgical setting. St. Sophia Church of the East arose as an expression of ancient apostolic
life. We are contemplative Christians gathered together in the name of Jesus the Lord and strive to rediscover
our Middle Eastern and orthodox Christian heritage, much changed as the faith moved westward in history. With a strong emphasis
on prayer, experiential theology and liturgical simplicity, St. Sophia’s mission is to provide a Christian community
that is set apart from the insecurity of the world, and is committed to the life-long process
of developing the individual's personal relationship with God.
Fr. Richard is married and has two children.

pastor Art Klemme
Faith and belief comprise a very important part of our lives. A person's
beliefs in many ways define who they are -- how they see themselves, what they want out of life, and more. On this web site we'll
offer an account of our beliefs. Our Pastor, Pastor Art Klemme, will describe how his beliefs have changed his
life in profound and exciting ways, and how he thinks they might change the lives of others.
The Ante-Nicene Episcopal Church of Christ
is a Communion of Christ's faithful united together in their adherence to the orthodox ("right belief") and
orthopratic ("right practices") Apostolic Faith of the Holy Scriptures as entrusted to the Church by the Apostolic and Ante-Nicene
Fathers of the Faith. The A.E.C.C is a "Restoration" and "Convergence" Communion that draws its inspiration from the historic
Christian faith as expressed in the Ante-Nicene orthodox traditions. We are not exclusively Celtic, Anglican, Roman, Lutheran,
Eastern Orthodox (Greek), Baptist or Pentecostal. Yet we draw upon all the Scriptural truths embodied within all these expressions
of Christian orthodoxy. We are a Christian Community that strives to realize and maintain the fullness of a more abundant
life in Christ.
